President Clinton to Headline Greenbuild 2007
The U.S. Green Building Council announced on August 29 that former President Bill Clinton will deliver the keynote address to launch November’s Greenbuild conference in Chicago.

In September 2005, President Clinton offered opening remarks to a select New York City audience at the kick-off of his Global Initiative, part of which addresses climate change.

Clinton has won support in the sustainable design community recently, especially since he launched the Clinton Climate Initiative in 2006, which addresses building energy efficiency as a key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas—designed by Polshek Partnership Architects—was built as a LEED Silver building, but is currently being upgraded to comply with the LEED Platinum requirements for existing buildings.
Clinton’s new book about citizen activism and volunteerism, “Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World,” goes on sale September 4.
McGraw-Hill Construction, the parent of GreenSource, is a sponsor of the USGBC’s Greenbuild conference.
