Oasis QT Sound Masking Device
Cambridge Sound Management’s Oasis QT uses a narrow range of frequencies to mask speech in open-office settings where privacy is necessary, such as call centers or banks. This plug-and-play system doesn’t need a plenum, so its 1.25-inch diameter emitters can be installed in ceiling tiles or directly on beams, furniture, or fixtures—and they can be taken down and re-used if an office relocates. Phoenix Solar Water Heater
The Phoenix Solar Water Heater incorporates a heat exchanger for solar collectors or other alternative heat sources, along with a backup gas burner that operates at 97 percent thermal efficiency. The solar heat exchanger is located at the bottom of the tank, while the gas burner is in the middle—keeping water at the bottom of the tank cooler and maximizing the efficiency of the solar collectors. The Phoenix comes with auxiliary hook-ups to connect to air handlers or radiant heating systems. Engineered Finger-Jointed Framing Studs
Innovative Wood Concepts (IWC) makes framing studs out of wood scraps recycled from construction sites and truss companies, finger-jointing them using water-borne white glue (polyvinyl acetate—PVA). Waste from production is turned into mulch and animal bedding. According to the company, they kept over 3.5 million linear feet of wood from reaching the landfill last year. Color Kinetics combines LEDs in a variety of color options with controllers, power supplies, software, and peripherals to create energy-efficient, customizable architectural lighting effects for everything from retail displays to massive commercial exteriors to residential applications. Low-Flow Sink Aerator
Ecotech’s Low-Flow Sink Aerator for lavatory faucets incorporates an aeration technology that pulls air in through the side of the unit, boosting pressure while reducing flow to 0.33 gallons per minute—significantly less than the 2.5 gallon-per-minute federal standard for lavatory faucets.
