Drainage and Flashing Systems
Mortar Net catches excess mortar that falls during masonry installation, keeping it from clogging weep holes and blocking drainage. Its 90% open mesh allows drainage and ventilation through the wall cavity. Mortar Net is incorporated into TOTALFlash, a one-piece, easy-to-install cavity wall flashing system that substitutes for standard peel-and-stick flashing products.

Versapanel Roofing Panels
Made with polyisocyanurate foam cores sandwiched between steel skins, Centria’s Versapanel tongue-and-groove insulated roofing panels seal out the elements and create a thermal break between the face and liner. They’re available with R-values as high as 32, and when chosen in white they have a solar reflectance index above 78, making them eligible for additional LEED credits.

Structural Slate Wall Cladding
Vermont Structural Slate has been quarrying slate in Vermont since 1859, producing roofing, cladding, flooring, and other architectural products for both commercial and residential buildings. Panels, split-face veneers, shingles, and sculpings—uneven brick-like pieces used as masonry—are available in a variety of finishes. The company can also create custom panels to meet a project’s needs.

GreenScapes Green Roof System
Green roofs absorb CO2 and reduce heat gain in buildings, heat-island effect in cities, and stormwater runoff. CETCO’s GreenScapes system uses a waterproofing membrane, root barrier, drainage, growing media, and plants to create a variety of green roof assemblies, including “extensive” systems for shallow plant roots and “intensive” systems that can support bushes and small trees.

White Cedar Shingles
White cedar’s natural preservatives protect it against insects and rot. Untreated it weathers to a distinctive silver gray color, but Maibec recommends two coats of its factory-applied opaque, waterborne, low-VOC stains. After staining, the shingles are kiln dried to create a weather-resistant siding that carries a 50-year warranty against rot. Maibec offers these shingles with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.

Roof Battens
Wood battens used to support concrete or clay roofing tiles can form “dams” that reduce air circulation and trap water which eventually eats through the underlayment and potentially through the sheathing underneath. The channels in BattenUp roof battens allow water and air to drain through, minimizing pooling, and they’re approved by the International Code Council (ICC) for Class A roof tiles.

Insulated Wall & Roofing Panels
Kingspan’s tongue-and-groove panels are made from polyisocyanurate foam or mineral wool insulation sandwiched between steel skins. They create a weathertight seal and can provide whole-wall insulating values up to R-49 for the 6-inch-thick foam panel. And the company’s mineral wool panel doesn’t require toxic flame retardants or blowing agents.

Terra Cotta Rainscreen Panels
Made primarily from clay, Boston Valley’s TerraClad rainscreen panels are inert, naturally fire resistant, and durable. They’re easy to install and replace using the company’s aluminum mounting system which creates a space behind the panels for drainage and ventilation. Manufactured specifically for each project, TerraClad panels are engineered to survive freeze-thaw cycles and have a 50-year-plus lifespan.
