Kirei Board
Kirei Board is made with waste sorghum fiber and can be used as a lightweight substitute for wood-panel products in cabinetry and furniture, store displays, restaurant and office interiors, wall treatments, or even flooring in low-traffic areas. Kirei Board's fibers are held together with a formaldehyde-free MDI binder—similar to what is used in most straw-particleboard panels. These 3' x 6' panels come in a variety of thicknesses and have an irregular pattern that gives them a unique look.

Durapalm Flooring
Smith & Fong's Durapalm flooring is made from plantation-grown coconut palm trees that no longer produce coconuts. Made with no added urea-formaldehyde adhesives, it comes in 2- and 4-foot-long tongue-and-groove planks that are dark to medium-red mahogany in color. This flooring is available unfinished or pre-finished with an eight-coat ceramic/urethane, zero-VOC, UV-cured finish. Smith & Fong reports that they use only the darker, harder palm for a durable surface.

Harmonium xf Linoleum
Johnsonite Harmonium xf Linoleum is made from natural materials, including limestone, wood and cork flour, pine rosin, linseed oil, and jute. Unlike most resilient flooring that requires frequent use of chemicals to clean, strip, and refinish the floors, Harmonium xf uses a proprietary surface treatment that requires 50% less water, chemical, and detergent for maintenance, according to Johnsonite. It's also FloorScore- and CA 01350-certified and contains between 27% and 37% pre-consumer recycled content.

Denim Insulation
Bonded Logic’s UltraTouch denim insulation is made from post-consumer recycled denim and other cotton textile trimmings. It contains no glass fibers or formaldehyde; is completely recyclable at the end of its useful life; and uses a boron-based fire retardant that provides a class-A fire rating. This unique insulation comes in oversized batts designed to ensure a tight friction fit, but it takes some practice to install properly. The R-value is about 3.7 per inch.

Zero-VOC Wood Stain Tints
Woodtone Series Concentrated Tints from Vermont Natural Coatings do not contain any VOCs or hazardous air pollutants. They can be mixed with water, oil, or one of Vermont Natural Coatings's PolyWhey base products, which use whey protein (a by-product of the dairy industry) as a binder. Woodtone tints come in eight colors, but custom colors are available for large orders. Coverage is 500–600 square feet per gallon when used with a PolyWhey base.
