Terratex Textiles
True Textiles produces Terratex panel and upholstery fabrics from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, compostable natural fiber, or bio-based polylactic acid (PLA) polymer. Terratex can be made from a single type of fiber without backcoating so that it can be recycled or composted at the end of its useful life. These fabrics are available from Guilford of Maine, which offers them for use in office, education, and health-care settings.

Acrovyn 4000 PETG Wall and Corner Guards
Construction Specialties pioneered PVC wall protection 40 years ago, but now also offers products manufactured from Acrovyn 4000 PETG, which contains no brominated or halogenated flame retardants, phthalate plasticizers, BPA, or dioxin or furan formers. It’s available in 64 solid colors and 16 patterns, including chameleon simulated wood. Actual wood products are available with FSC-certified wood or bamboo, and finished with low-VOC, waterborne stains, and finishes.

Pure Performance Interior Paint
PPG’s Pure Performance interior latex paints contain no VOCs in the base and use very low-VOC tints (two grams per liter maximum), yet they meet the Master Painters Institute’s X-Green standard for emissions, chemical content, and durability. These paints are appropriate for residential interiors but have good enough durability that they can be used in hospitals, hotels, retail, and other commercial spaces. PPG claims that the Pure Performance line doesn’t compromise durability and costs about the same as conventional paints.

NanaWall Glass Wall System
Large expanses of glass are typically discouraged in green buildings but NanaWall’s WA67 high-performance folding glass-door system is good enough to meet strict Passive House standards. They achieve this through the use of argon-filled low-E, triple glazing, and thermal breaks. It has an impressive NFRC-certified U-value of 0.17 and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.26. You can even get it with FSC-certified trim.

Invision eKo Modular Tiles
Invision modular carpet tiles are made with the PVC-free eKo (pronounced “echo”) backing, which is made from a proprietary thermoplastic laminate with fiberglass reinforcement. These carpet tiles contain 10% post-consumer and 30% pre-consumer recycled content, and you can get them with Ultron nylon 6.6 and J&J’s Encore BCF nylon 6 with recycled content. eKo is certified both CRI Green Label Plus and NSF 140-2007 platinum and installed using eKoTac solvent-free, zero-VOC adhesive.
