Reclaimed Wood Products
Pioneer Millworks remills salvaged wood into flooring, timbers, cabinetry, stair parts, doors, siding, and trusses. The company's primary wood is longleaf yellow pine, but chestnut, oak, Douglas fir, and white pine are also available. Pioneer Millworks also makes engineered flooring composed of a 3/16"-thick layer of FSC-certified reclaimed or fresh-sawn wood on a plywood platform that is 70% (minimum) FSC-certified using low-VOC adhesives.

FSC-Certified Bamboo Flooring
Nadurra bamboo flooring is available in formaldehyde-free and FSC-certified composite and solid bamboo styles. For commercial use, the company offers its Traffic Composite series, which is 180% harder than maple and is factory-coated with nine layers of Bona's waterborne, commercial-grade polyurethane, making it appropriate for areas with heavy foot traffic. Nadurra bamboo flooring comes in multiple sizes and colors, and in vertical or horizontal laminate patterns.

FCS-Certified Veneers
Wood veneers provide the look of solid wood at a lower cost and without warping or splitting. The Freeman Corporation, one of the world's largest suppliers of FSC-certified veneers since 1995, offers veneers made from red and white oak, ash, cherry, walnut, maple, and many other species. The company pledges not to purchase wood that hasn't been sustainably grown, and it produces 800,000 square feet of veneer per day at its facilities in Kentucky.

SIPs with FSC-Certified OSB
Premier Building Systems manufactures structural insulated panels (SIPs) with insect-resistant, borate-treated EPS foam insulation and FSC-certified OSB skins for roofs, floors, and walls. A new continuous insulation "ci" panel can be used on commercial buildings to ensure there is no thermal bridging when attaching cladding. A six-inch-thick Premier SIP has an impressive R-value of 21.7.

Borate-Treated Framing
Eco Building Product's framing lumber, trusses, and sheathing are protected against mold, rot, fungus, and wood-destroying insects with a proprietary borate treatment that is bound into the wood. Eco Blue is dyed blue; Eco Clear contains no dye; and Eco Red is dyed red and contains a low-toxic flame retardant. These products are appropriate for climates where buildings are normally framed with treated wood, but they are not for ground contact applications.

Reclaimed Snow Fence
Centennial Woods reclaims wood from Wyoming snow fences that would otherwise go to waste. This untreated wood is weathered to a gray patina for a distinct look and can be used for interior or exterior surfaces, including siding, soffits, and other woodwork; plank flooring is also available. Custom Wood Office Furniture
The Joinery produces a wide variety of hand-crafted home and office furniture, and all of it is guaranteed for life. The company uses CollinsWood, wood from "healthy forests healthy communities," and reclaimed lumber, and 85% of it is FSC-certified or harvested within 100 miles. The Joinery runs its facility on 100% wind power and recycles its sawdust into wood briquettes.

FSC-Certified Particleboard
In 1993, Collins Pine Company became the first privately owned timber management company to receive FSC certification in the U.S., and it has been a leader in the forest and wood products certification movement since its inception. Insect- and Decay-Resistant Wood Products
Perennial Wood is southern yellow pine treated with the company's TruLast technology. Instead of using the toxic preservatives found in most treated wood, Perennial Wood uses a process that penetrates the wood with heat and a small amount of acetic acid (mild vinegar), protecting against decay and insects and stabilizing the wood so it won't cup or warp. Perennial Wood should not be used in ground-contact applications.
